tattoos

a story that goes deeper than skin

  • I am a tattoo artist based out of Washington state, located in the little city of Sedro Woolley. I originally was going to college for graphic design and got my bachelors degree with a minor in illustration from PLNU, CA. I lived down in San Diego for 3.5 years before deciding to quit design and tattoo full time. I travelled between CA and WA tattooing before I decided to come home and tattoo where five months later I opened The HUT. It’s a place where you can come and feel at home while being tattooed. I thrive to create a comfortable setting you and provide you with a tattoo better than you could have imagined. I work with you to reach your goals while also keeping within my style and boundaries. Giving professional help to create something that is placed well within the muscle structure and intentionally balanced.

For the short time we are here… why don’t we decorate our shells and allow others to become curious about who we are and where we have been. Tattoos are a story that go deeper than the skin.

  • My style ranges from doing small intricate detailed line work to… large scale sleeves and pieces. I limit my use of color to mainly black and grey work with white highlights. Line work is one of the techniques I love the most. I create clean crisp lines that make a tattoo stand out, or use them in a way to give the design life and depth. The shading I use in my pieces is a soft gradient and when looked at closely you are able to see the individual pixels. Details are one of my priorities in all my tattoos. The smallest things make all the difference. I am inspired by the Pacific North West nature, Christian tattoos, antiques, memories, art nouveau, and ornamental design.

I don’t use any color so far but am curating a collection of colors that are niche to my style. I will not offer colors outside of this pallet. If you would like to request a specific color I can special order in some cases.

pre-care

Prior to your tattoo, clients are advised of the following:

  • Hydrate and moisturize days prior to the tattoo as well as drinking water (1-2 liters per day before appointment)

  • Avoid partying or drinking alcohol the night before and do not show up under the influence to your appointment

  • Avoid tanning to close to the appointment so that the tan does not affect the ink, irritate skin, or have the appointment affect the tan either

  • Shave the area that will be tattooed (cover a larger area than you think is needed to leave room for placement variations)

  • Wear black and proper attire

  • Protect skin from sun

 FAQs

  • I will try my best to give you an estimated range for the tattoo, however I charge by the hour so the estimation would be based on time. Some tattoos take longer or shorter than I perceive in the beginning so just keep in mind that if the tattoo is larger than my minimum (2 inches) then it could cost more than anticipated based on the allotted time.

  • I advise to wait 5-7 days before doing any intense exercise that will make you sweat. That also goes for getting the tattoo wet in the shower, hot tub, sauna, ect. I would wait even a week to a week and a half before fully submerging your tattoo in water.

  • I do not cary numbing cream or spray in my arsenal, but you are more than welcome to apply it 45 minutes before the tattoo to let it set in if you have or want some yourself. Please let me know before hand if you have applied any.

  • For freehand tattoos I love working with my clients to create the design on the skin and asking your personal preferences throughout the process. I would allow an hour to an hour and half for creating the freehand design before even touching the skin with a needle (keep in mind when booking the tattoo and allowing us enough time to create).
